Pope Francis Certifies Same-Sex Marriage Under Conditions

The Vatican has finally approved the administration of blessings to same-sex couple. In a landmark ruling presided and approved by Pope Francis, the Roman Catholic priests were authorized to do so provided that the couple is not part of regular church rituals or liturgies.

The eight-page document from the Vatican’s doctrinal office declared the opposite of another declaration issued in the year 2021. The current document titled “Blessings of Couples in Irregular Situations and of Couples of the Same sex”, stated that blessings will an indication that “God welcomes all” rather than legitimizing irregular incidents. Additionally, the writings warned the world not to confuse it with the sacrament of heterosexual marriage.

The document further indicated that the Roman Catholic priests should exclusively settle on a case-by-case basis. They should also avoid prohibiting or preventing the church’s closeness to the congregation in every situation which involves seeking a mere blessing from God.

The Roman Catholic church spelled that same-sex love is not as sinful as homosexual acts. The Pope was elected in 2013 and have been trying his best to make the member churches support the LGBT community without changing moral doctrine.

Different world leaders and activists have continued to pour out their opinions on the topic. Some of them support the idea while others are rebuking the Pope’s declaration.
