Political Analyst Advises Ruto to Embrace Vague Statements, Drawing Parallels with Former President Kibaki

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi advises President William Ruto to adopt vague statements similar to former President Mwai Kibaki. Ngunyi suggests that dealing with Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) is challenging, as they tend to dislike a clear-headed president.

In a Twitter statement, Ngunyi urges Ruto to embrace vagueness to avoid becoming a target for ridicule. This advice comes after Ruto made a promise to provide electric motorbikes for boda boda riders, which drew criticism and skepticism from Kenyans on Twitter.

They used the term “Mtukufu Lies” to highlight unfulfilled promises made by Ruto. Ngunyi refers to former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who deactivated his Twitter account in 2019 due to online abuse. Kenyatta later returned to Twitter in 2022.

Ngunyi’s suggestion to Ruto implies that being vague and less specific in his statements may help him navigate the challenges of engaging with the online community. The criticism faced by Ruto on social media emphasizes the need for politicians to carefully craft their messages to avoid backlash and skepticism.
