Police Arrest 3 Individuals Suspected to have Hurled Shoe at Ruto In Migori

Police officers in Kehancha, Kuria West, Migori County, have arrested three individuals suspected of throwing a shoe at President William Ruto while he was addressing residents of the Kehancha area on Sunday evening.

A security officer has confirmed the arrest, revealing that investigations are ongoing and that more suspects are being pursued, yet to be brought on board. According to police report, preliminary findings suggest that the incident may have been politically motivated and planned ahead of the President’s visit.

Police have further revealed that authorities are working so closely to narrow down their investigation to a key suspect to bring the person on limelight.

Yesterday, President William Ruto began his 3-day tour in Migori county, visiting Suna West Sub county, Suna East and Kuria West. The President launched affordable housing project in Kehancha, Kuria West.

Earlier, the Head-of-State opened Suna West Sub county office in Piny Oyie, emphasizing on the need to foster local administration.

“We are strengthening our local administration to ensure it is fully equipped to serve the people efficiently. Officially opened Suna West Sub County Office in Piny Oyie, Migori County,” read part of his social media statement, following a successful trip in a section of sub counties in Migori.

“Also laid the foundation stone for Suna West Technical and Vocational College, which will enhance access to technical training in the region,” Ruto’s statement added.

The President is set to tour around other sub counties within Migori, including Rongo, Awendo, Uriri, Kuria East and Nyatike. He is expected to launch a series of developments in those regions.
