Oga Obinna Comes To The Rescue Of Kimani Mbugua

In an audacious move, comedian and media personality Oga Obinna has enrolled former Citizen TV journalist Kimani Mbugua in the Mathare Mental Hospital for treatment. Additionally, Obinna pledged to pay Mbugua’s medical bills during his therapy.

On Instagram, the comedian posted a touching video of himself and his group collecting Mbugua from his Thika residence. Knowing that his father and Obinna had come to his aid, the former journalist was ecstatic to see them together.

“We passed by Mathare and are now waiting for instructions from Dad and Mum, then we proceed. We will give the final update by evening,” Obinna stated.

A few days after a video of Mbugua exploding live on camera went viral, the rescue mission was launched. Kenyans expressed concern about the content creator’s potential mental health relapse adding that he needed urgent medical attention.

Mbugua lost his job as a young journalist a few years ago after receiving a bipolar disorder diagnosis. Previous rumors suggested that marijuana abuse was the cause of his mental illness.

On the other hand, Mbugua’s father recently provided clarification regarding his son’s condition. He claimed that Mbugua’s downfall resulted from his close friends over-spiking his drink at a celebration.

The journalist’s father claims that Mbugua was never the same after that party, which was a huge setback for him. Paying for his son’s treatment at a mental health facility in Nairobi required him to expend a substantial sum of money. But in spite of everything, Mbugua’s mental state continues to worsen over time.
