“Not Boarding”, Martha Karua Declines Attorney General Position in Ruto’s Government

Martha Karua, leader of the NARC Kenya party, has turned down the offer to become the next Attorney General in President William Ruto’s government.

According to sources, Karua has decided not to join Ruto’s administration, as she does not wish to tarnish her reputation with a government that has been accused of various injustices against Kenyans during recent protests.

In response to a fan’s suggestion that she join the government to address issues related to social justice, land, and human rights, Karua reiterated that she will not be participating but will rather continue fighting for the justice to the victims of those killed during the protests.

This decision follows President Ruto’s recent move to broaden his administration by appointing four cabinet secretaries from the ODM party, an action seen as an attempt to create a more inclusive government. Karua’s departure from the Azimio coalition just two days ago sparked speculation about her potential role in the new government, but she has firmly dismissed these claims.

She had initially rejected dialogue with President William Ruto after Raila Odinga, the de facto leader of the Azimio party, urged that talks were more important to address the current crisis and turmoil caused by the Kenyan youth who took to the streets.

With NARC Kenya’s exit from the Azimio coalition, it is anticipated that Kalonzo Musyoka will take over the opposition leadership and assume the role of the opposition leader.
