New Dawn For Kenya as Cabinet Secretaries Get Sworn In at State House

The second cabinet under President William Ruto was sworn in today in an event deemed to be a new dawn after the president disbanded the entire cabinet following the deadly protests that rocked the nation in June and July.

According to reports, this marks a new beginning after the Cabinet Secretaries were vetted by the National Assembly, with 19 of them approved, and one rejected.

The event, which was presided over by President Ruto, is an indication of a government of national unity, which, according to him, aims at uniting the entire country and averting any division. Among the new faces in the cabinet are Ali Hassan Joho, who was appointed to head the Mining and Blue Economy Ministry; Opiyo Wandayi, who was picked to head the Energy docket; and John Mbadi, who will lead the National Treasury. Julius Migos Ogamba was also appointed to head the education Ministry while Eric Muuga Murithi was picked to lead the Water and Irrigation ministry.

While addressing the newly sworn-in Cabinet Secretaries, President Ruto urged them to discharge their duties in various ministries without fear or favor and to serve all Kenyans across all political divides.
