Murathe Declares That The Jubilee Party NDC Will Proceed As Planned

The National Delegates Conference (NDC), according to Jubilee Party Vice-Chairman David Murathe, will take place in the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi on May 22, 2023.

On May 11, shortly after meeting with party branches across the nation, Murathe held a press conference at the Jubilee headquarters in Nairobi and accused the opposing side of the party of acting dishonestly. He asked the Kanini Kega-led faction to join in the NDC, where delegates will democratically decide the direction of the party, rather than imposing themselves by holding meetings in the bushes and on the streets.

“The ultimate choice will be made by the delegates. It is best to ask the delegates for their support throughout the voting process if you want to secure a position within the party. It is inappropriate to hold conferences in the street, as the Kanini side has done, according to Murathe.

“As of right now, we are moving forward at full speed in order to get ready for the NDC, which the party leader has called for May 22 and 23, at the Bomas of Kenya. The individuals in this photo are the county-level party branch chairs, who act as an organ of the national governing council.

Following Kega’s cancellation of the NDC called by former President Uhuru Kenyatta due to improper procedure, Murathe made his comments. Before holding what they described as a well-planned National Delegates Conference, Kega’s group said they wanted to clean up the party registration.

Jeremiah Kioni, the secretary general of Jubilee and a former member of parliament for Ndaragwa, insisted that the special NDC would go ahead as scheduled since it has the backing of most party members.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was recently removed as the party head by Kega’s group, who named Nominated MP Sabina Chege as the acting party leader. They noted Kenyatta’s failure to encourage member collaboration, political engagement, and dialogue during his administration.
