Martha Karua: After Yesterday, Azimio Coalition Is Dead

Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has stated that the Azimio Coalition, which comprises ODM, Wiper, NARC Kenya, and Jubilee parties, is officially dead following ODM’s decision to field cabinet secretaries for appointment into the government.

Karua further says the coalition no longer stands, citing internal divisions since the NADCO talks.

Karua says she is now ready to stand with Kenyans as their opposition leader following recent political realignments.

“Azimio is shaky. After yesterday, Azimio is dead. It was dead because we have been pulling in different directions since the unveiling of the NADCO report.

What has kept us together is that we allowed all parties to rebuild themselves independently, but after the current developments, it is over. I am ready to fight for the justice of Kenyans as the opposition leader,” said Karua.

The statement comes a day after President Ruto nominated ODM members to his cabinet for consideration in positions following their dismissal of the CSs last month.

Martha Karua and Kalonzo Musyoka sharply differed with Raila after he insisted that dialogue must be the only way to solve the issues raised by Kenyans during the protests and to also unite the country and actualize the government agenda.

However, Kalonzo and Karua insisted that the presidency must be held responsible for the shooting of unarmed youth and that both Ruto and Gachagua must resign.
