Kiambu Hospital On The Spot for Leaving Patient Unattended

Kiambu County Referral Hospital is on the spot for leaving a patient unattended for 10 hours after a stillbirth, despite the victim requiring urgent attention.

According to the sound of the alleged patient’s mother, the nurses ignored the victim at the hospital despite her being diabetic and already suffering.

As per to the footage, the woman became upset since no one helped them despite their repeated requests for their mother to be attended. The security office watched in ds=disbelief as the family struggled to get the nurse’s attention.

Last month,Susan Nakhumicha fired NHIF branch managers for corruption and mismanagement of funds in Embu County, among other raft of measures introduced in the ministry of health to improve service delivery and efficiency.

The nature of public hospitals and healthcare facilities has been revealed by the video that has since gone viral. Sources who spoke to African hinted that despite the slow services, no action has been taken by the Kiambu County Health Department on the lapses and negligence at the health facility.

Investigations led by County CEM health are currently underway to establish if there was negligence at the county hospital.
