Kenyans Flock Kasarani Stadium For The Inauguration of President Elect William Ruto

According to the live proceedings in Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani Stadium, Kenyans have arrived in large numbers as early as from 5am to witness the swearing in of the fifth President of Kenya, Dr. William Samoei Ruto.

The 60,000 capacity stadium is packed to full with Kenyans expressing their expectations hoping that the incoming administration will transform its manifesto presented during the campaign trail and describe their agenda in the next five years.

Heads of States who have already confirmed in the country to attend the President elect inauguration include; Tanzania Samia Suluhu, Rwanda Paul Kagame, Seychelles Island Wavel Ramkalawan, South Sudan Salva Kiir, Mozambique Filipe Nyusi, Ghana Nana Akufo Addo, Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Burundi Evariste Nyayishimiye and Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia. At least 17 presidents, eight prime ministers and deputy presidents, seven foreign ministers are among the 2500 VIPs expected to grace the occasion.

United States Of America Joe Biden had named a delegation to represent him lead by Hon. Katherine Tai US Trade Representative accompanied by Hon. Meg Whitman, US Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya, Hon. Colin Allred, United States Representative (D), Texas, Hon. Mary Catherine Phee, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of African Affairs, U.S. Department of State, Dr. Monde Muyangwa, Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Africa, U.S. Agency for International Development.

The event which is expected to start today 13th September, 2022 by 10am, President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta will handover the instruments of power and authority to Ruto, who alongside his deputy Rigathi Gachagua will subscribe to the oath of allegiance and the oath of affirmation for the execution of the functions of office as prescribed in the third schedule, in the presence of public and before Chief Justice, Martha Koome.
