Award-winning Kenyan actresses Catherine Kamau Karanja aka Kate actress, and Jacky Vike popularly known as Awinja are over the moon after President William Ruto bestowed them presidential awards on Jamhuri Day.
The duo had joined fellow Kenyans in the celebration of the big day but turned out to be the winners of the Order of the Grand Warriors award. The two were handed the medals by the President as Kenya turned 60 years since it gained independence. The stars couldn’t keep calm as they rushed to their social media handles and disseminated the breaking news.
Kate Actress shared several posts on her Instagram celebrating the new milestone. In one of the snaps, the actress boldly showcased the medal in which she wore around her neck. She expressed her gratitude to God for the new win.
On the other hand, Awinja posted a series of snaps which depicted her receiving the medal from the President. Donning on her signature costumes, the mother of one walked out of the scene smiling broadly as a sign of gratitude for the award.
The Order of the Grand Warrior award is an award gifted to persons in recognition of their special service offered to the country in different responsibilities and capacities. In summary, the award is presented to citizens who are always risking their lives in favour of others.
