Judiciary Mourns the Passing of Magistrate Jacqueline Ojwang’ Muthoni

The Judiciary is engulfed in sorrow following the unexpected demise of Magistrate Jacqueline Ojwang’ Muthoni, a beloved figure within the legal community. Chief Justice Martha Koome delivered the heartbreaking news on Monday morning, expressing profound sadness at the loss of a cherished friend and esteemed colleague.

Magistrate Jacqueline Ojwang’ Muthoni’s journey within the legal realm saw her serve in various capacities, leaving an indelible mark wherever she went. Prior to her passing, she held the position of Resident Magistrate at Butere Law Courts, having previously lent her expertise to Kibera and Thika Law Courts.

In a statement issued by Chief Justice Koome, the Judiciary mourned the untimely departure of Magistrate Jacqueline, acknowledging her significant contributions to the legal profession. Described as a beacon of kindness, generosity, and wisdom, she touched the lives of many, both within and beyond the judiciary.

Chief Justice Koome reminisced on Magistrate Jacqueline’s remarkable qualities, noting her warmth, courage, and compassionate nature, which endeared her to colleagues and peers alike. Beyond her professional achievements, she was celebrated for her profound impact on those around her.

“In addition to her professional achievements, Hon. Jacqueline Muthoni Ojwang’ was a friend to many within the Judiciary. She was known for her kindness, generosity, courage, warmth, and wisdom, which touched many lives,” remarked Chief Justice Koome.

Expressing heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Judiciary, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), and herself, Chief Justice Koome extended solace to the bereaved family, colleagues, and friends of Magistrate Jacqueline Ojwang’ Muthoni. As the community grieves together, prayers are offered for strength and comfort during this challenging period.

“On behalf of the Judiciary, the Judicial Service Commission, and myself, I extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, colleagues, and friends. As we share in your grief, we pray for strength and solace in this trying time. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” Chief Justice Koome concluded.
