Former Citizen TV news presenter, Janet Mbugua, has revealed that she hasn’t taken liquor for more than one year.
In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, the mother of two indicated that the reason behind her glowing skin is avoiding liquor, eating healthy and taking a lot of water.
” This makes me eat healthier and drink more water. So maybe my young look is because I hydrate a lot and eat healthily,” the media personality said.
She added that avoiding alcohol makes her to look younger and lovely.
Mbugua noted that the last time she took alcohol was in December 2021 adding that it’s not a big deal since she is doing it out of her own reasons.
“I have not had alcohol in one and half years. Since December 2021. It is not a big deal. It is one of those things I stopped doing for reasons that I only know,” she said.
However, the Inua Dada founder indicated that her decision is not permanent as she may or may not go back to drinking alcohol.
She said that she has been fine and so far she hasn’t experienced any deprivation hence it is a milestone which is worth celebrating.
Mbugua considers restraining herself in social events that has a lot of alcohol drinking where she still enjoys the event with soft drinks.
Mbugua has been in the forefront in fighting for girl child’s right through community empowerment programs like Inua Dada Foundation and also through her book “My First Time” which addresses the challenges that girls face during their menses.
