Hussein Mohamed Appointed Statehouse Spokesperson

Former Citizen Television news anchor Hussein Mohamed has been appointed by President Ruto as the State House Spokesperson.

Hussein initially served as the director of communications in the Ruto presidential campaign. The former journalist will now replace Kanze Dena, who served in the same position in the former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime.

Hussein’s initial position in Ruto’s presidential campaign will be taken by David Mugonyi, who served as the spokesperson of William Ruto when he was the Deputy President between 2013 and 2022.David will now lead the Presidential Communication Service.

Hussein’s promotion to the top position has occurred in less than two years after serving as a communications consultant in the NGO sector and later holding a senior political interviewer in citizen television.
