Georgina Njenga Responds To Mom-shaming Critics.

Content creator Georgina Njenga has expressed her experience with mummy-shaming as a first-time mother.

Njenga is married to former Machachari actor Tyler Mbaya alias Baha.

The mother of one took to her Instagram page to share a story of how people have been criticizing and calling her a bad mom.

Njenga claimed that online critics and trollings have scrutinized her parenting skills, pointing to her trend of partying and spending most of the time with friends.

She indicated that the worst thing about this is that the same queries are never directed at Baha.

“It’s crazy, I can be in the house six out of seven days, but that one day, everyone will try to make me feel bad for going out, and it’s all crazy because her dad never gets the same questions when he’s out with his friends,” Georgina Njenga wrote.

She also pointed out that interrogating a mom about her child’s location while she’s having a good time is a type of mummy-shaming that intends to make mother’s guilty of the situation.

Njenga reminisced her experience of being trapped in her home for three months after she gave birth which made her to experience postpartum depression due to her reluctance to seek help.

“During my first 3 months of being a mom, I really did overwork myself. I had no nanny because I felt I would be a lazy mom.

“I didn’t leave the house only when going to clinics. I lost myself so much that I never thought I would overcome it. I fell into postpartum depression,” she stated.

Njenga added that she will never let unsolicited comments affect her as she encouraged other young mothers to do the same.

In her opinion, being a mother is only one part of their identity and they have many other talents and strengths.

Njenga and Baha welcomed their first bundle of joy, Astra, in May 2022.
