Gachagua Graces Cultural Gala, Celebrates Kenyan Heritage in Diaspora

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua joined Kenyans in the diaspora for a night of celebration and cultural pride during the 1st Edition of Ngemi Cia Ruraya held at Saghalie Park in Seattle.

Describing the event as a memorable evening, Gachagua emphasized the unifying power of music, calling it an “effective and efficient messaging medium” that has stood the test of time.

He was accompanied by Pastor Dorcas Rigathi and veteran politician Martha Karua, who joined him in an evening filled with vibrant music and colorful displays of Kenyan cultural heritage.

“We danced the night away, celebrating our roots and unity,” said Gachagua, reflecting on the evening’s significance. The event brought together members of the Kenyan community abroad, serving not only as a reunion but also a celebration of identity and shared destiny.

Gachagua underscored the importance of cultural exchange, stating that sharing such experiences “embodies our humanity” and helps remind people of who they are, especially when far from home.

Ending his message with a patriotic note, he declared, “A Kenyan Ever! God bless Kenya!”, a sentiment echoed by many in attendance who celebrated the spirit of home, even while abroad.
