Former Mungiki Leader Maina Njenga Presents Himself To The DCI

Maina Njenga, a former Mungiki leader, showed up at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation’s headquarters on Thursday.

Azimio leaders George Wajackoyah, Mwangi wa Iria, Martha Karua, and Eugene Wamalwa were with him. Jeremiah Kioni, the embattled secretary general of Jubilee, was also present. There were also Njenga’s supporters, who were chanting “Ndovu,” which is Swahili for elephant.

DCI officials had stated that they were hunting for him in connection with the discovery of two weapons and more than 90 rolls of marijuana at a Nakuru residence connected to him. Following news that police were seeking for him, Njenga showed up at the Nakuru law courts on Wednesday.

He appeared in court accompanied by his attorney, Ndegwa Njiru. The former Mungiki chief appeared at the Nakuru County Directorate of Criminal Investigation offices after leaving court in order to provide a testimony.

He was instructed to travel there on Thursday to the DCI headquarters in Nairobi. He received an anticipatory bail on Tuesday, preventing police from detaining or arresting him in connection with allegations that he was in possession of two weapons and 90 rolls of hashish.
