Former CJ Maraga Intensifies Grassroots Outreach with Bomet Stop

Former Chief Justice and 2027 presidential aspirant David Maraga continued his nationwide political outreach on Monday with a stop in Bomet town, where he held engagements with supporters as part of his expanding grassroots consultations.

The visit comes amid an intensified countrywide campaign drive by the former Judiciary boss, who has in recent weeks stepped up town hall meetings and civic mobilization forums across the country as he seeks to solidify support for his presidential bid. Earlier on Monday, Maraga officially launched another round of nationwide consultations, signalling a renewed push to connect directly with wananchi on governance and leadership issues.

Supporters in Bomet gathered to welcome the former Chief Justice, with discussions largely centred on constitutionalism, accountability, youth voter registration, and the future political direction of the country. The meeting is part of the broader Ukatiba Caravan, a civic education and voter mobilization initiative that has become central to his campaign message.

David Maraga has recently gained momentum in his 2027 bid, with his campaign reporting millions of shillings raised through citizen-led contributions and growing support from grassroots networks across different counties.

Political observers say the Bomet engagement reflects an early strategy to build regional alliances and strengthen public visibility ahead of what is expected to be a highly contested 2027 election race.
