Eliud Owalo, CS Nominee For Communications And The Digital Economy, Is Worth Sh645 million.

When Owalo appeared before the National Assembly Appointments committee, he said that his assets included two mansions, one each in Nairobi and Siaya, each valued Sh190 million, a plot of land worth Sh200 million, four automobiles totaling Sh15 million, and other property.

He continued by mentioning his other investments, which include a hotel valued at Sh80 million and a commercial tree planting company worth Sh160 million.

According to the bill of quantities, the hotel facility will be worth Sh 293M once it is finished, but it is currently only worth Sh 80M. The committee headed by Speaker Moses Wetangula was informed by Owalo that he had also invested in commercial tree planting.

When Raila Odinga’s campaign secretariat manager for the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy in 2013, the cabinet nominee entered the political spotlight (Cord).

Prior to the ODM denying him a ticket for the Kibra Parliamentary seat and giving it to the late Ken Okoth, Owalo was a close associate of Odinga.

He left the Orange party two years after the 2017 general election and joined Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC), remaining there until August 2020, when he publicly switched over to President William Ruto’s side.

He was one of the few political figures who supported Ruto despite the region’s Azimio/ODM trend.

Once accepted, Owalo will hold the position of senior government official from the area.

The United Democratic Alliance’s (UDA) deputy secretary-general in charge of policy and strategy served on the steering committee for the presidential campaign.

Mr. Owalo is a graduate of the University of Nairobi’s MBA program in human resource management and Kenyatta University’s undergraduate program in economics and business studies (UoN). He is a strategic management PhD candidate at UoN.
