DP Gachagua Waters Down Azimio’s Letter to ICC

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has on Saturday 15, April, watered down Azimio’s letter to International Criminal Court (ICC).

In the letter that Azimio One Kenya Coalition Party wrote to ICC accusing the government for using extrajudicial force on peaceful protesters, the opposition specifically want the international judicial body to take action against Inspector General Japhet Koome.

Speaking during a political gathering at Nyandarua county where he went to oversee planting of over 10,000 trees, he said Raila together with his allies ought to be the ones sent to ICC, accusing them for being responsible on all properties destroyed and the lives which were lost in process.

He said:

In fact the people who should be taken to ICC are those Azimio characters who have destroyed the lives and properties of the people of Kenya.”

Moreover, the DP Gachagua stood behind IG Koome asking him to continue delivering his duties as usual to the people of Kenya without fear.

He directed blames to Raila for organizing street demos, declaring Japhet Koome blame-free.

Further, he dared Raila’s team to get back to the streets as long as they won’t destroy people’s properties. DP Gachagua reiterated that this regime won’t be coerced like the past regime did.
