DP Gachagua Brings His Anti-illegal Brew Campaign To Nakuru

Governor of Nakuru County Susan Kihika welcomed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Monday for a seminar on combating drug and alcohol misuse in the Rift Valley.

Leaders, administrators, security personnel, and Rift Valley inhabitants are all present for the summit. Gachagua declared that “our resolve to end alcoholism, the production and sale of illicit brew, and drug abuse remains strong.”

It’s time to address this issue that could wipe out our younger generation, he said.On April 14, 2023, the Deputy President presided over a similar leaders’ gathering on drug and alcohol misuse in Mount Kenya. He expressed the opinion that the traffickers in illegal brew targeted young people between the ages of 12 and 30.

“As the leadership, we cannot stand by and watch as an entire generation is obliterated. We’ve come to the conclusion that this area is being targeted for destruction due to its population and its commercial success with the advent of illegal alcohol and drugs,” said Gachagua.

The conference is expected to produce innovative solutions to the region’s problem of alcohol and drug abuse.
