Double Olympic Champion Eliud Kipchoge To Be Awarded Millions Of Cash For Winning the 2022 Berlin Marathon

According to a trusted source, Kenyan Athlete Eliud Kipchoge will be awarded Ksh 3million for winning the marathon race, Ksh 6.8 million for breaking the world record and Ksh 4.1 million for a time bonus.

Kenyan long distance runner, Mark Korir who came second and in 4 minutes and 49 seconds after Kipchoge in the men’s marathon will take home Ksh 1.37 million. While, the silver winner and the second fastest debutant in the marathon for women’s category Rosemary Wanjiru will get Ksh 1.175 million.

Wanjiru came second ahead of Ethiopia’s Tigist Abayechew in three seconds and behind Ethiopia’s Tigist Assefa as they finished in 2:18.00 , 2:18:03 and 2:15:37.

Kenyans were proud to have been represented with the best at the BMW Berlin Marathon 2022 as they hailed Kipchoge “The Goat”.

Kipchoge has won the race for the fourth time to set a new record after finishing in 2:01:39. In his tweet, he appreciated everyone; his teammates, family, fans, organization, sponsors and other runners who push and inspire him to be better .

“Limits are there to be broken. By you and me together. I can say I am beyond happy today that the official world record is once again faster.” Kipchoge wrote.

“Berlin, I cannot express my gratitude enough. From the organization to the fans but also the participants today who won their race. To my family, teammates, staff and all my sponsors who support me endlessly. Thankyou.” He added.
