Diamond Laments Losing 4Billion To Scammers

Tanzanian Bongo Superstar Diamond Platnumz has revealed how he was conned Tsh.4B (more than Ksh.200M) in pursuit of buying a private jet.

The artist disclosed the information during an interview with Wasafi Media as he tried to clarify the issue to his fans after he vowed to purchase the jet last year. He explained that his plans were to own a private jet in order to avoid commercial flights and also use it as a way of making extra cash.

“I didn’t want to use commercial flights this year. I wanted my private plane to hire out to other people,” Simba said.

The WCB Wasafi Records CEO explained his failure by stating that an agent defrauded him a whooping amount of Tsh.4B claiming to be helping him to buy the jet. The fraudster interfered with the artist’s plan which in turn left him with no option but to use a commercial flight. However, the “jeje” hitmaker reported the incident to Tanzanian authorities to follow up.

“I had brought a very big plane, but they conned me about Tsh 4 billion. The government knows, if you are conned that amount of money you would go crazy,” Diamond stated.

Simba revealed that the government had taken a huge step in claiming the money from the scammer as he was paying him through installments. Additionally, the furious singer called out the fraudsters for depicting him as liar since his fans will judge him for announcing fake information. Some netizens accused the artist of chasing clout and this stained his reputation.
