Pastor Ezekiel Odero Arrested , Church Closed As Investigation Into Kilifi Cult Continues

Ezekiel Odero, a televangelist with the New Life Prayer Centre and Church, has been detained in connection with alleged public indoctrination.

He was detained the day after being interrogated for hours on claims that his church also practices occultism. The preacher was detained, according to Coast Regional Commissioner Rhodah Onyancha, in Makueni, Kilifi county.

She claimed that this was because there had allegedly been fatalities on his property. The New Life Prayer Centre and Church was also ordered to close by her. He’s being taken to Mombasa to be grilled. More details will be made available, she promised. He is at Coast Police Central right now.

In front of Kilifi investigators on Wednesday, the pastor refuted allegations of occultism at his congregation. According to police who were informed of the situation, the ongoing exhumation of bodies from a farm in Shakahola Forest was the reason for the decision to summon him on Wednesday. Pastor Paul Mackenzie of the Good News International Church is associated with the farm.

According to officials, 95 remains have so far been found in graves in the forest.
