Awinja Hilariously Presents Her Finance Bill To President Ruto

Renown comedian Jacky Vike popularly known by her stage name Awinja, has left Kenyans in stitches after her hilarious remarks on Finance Bill 2023. The comedian presented her comic Finance Bill at the Statehouse during the content creators’ state visit discussion.

Awinja has now sparked a nationwide discussion out of her witty statement that cracked the ribs of President William Ruto, members of Statehouse and her fellow content creators. The comedian humorously requested the government to impose a hefty tax of 50 percent on men who will marry a second wife, 70 percent on men who spend most of their time in the massage parlour and 30 percent on men who engage in late night calls and chatting with sidechicks.

Her satirical proposal led to uproarious laughter that echoed through the entire Statehouse. Awinja’s unconventional perspective on the bill injected a light-hearted moment into the ongoing debate on the proposed bill therefore bringing the much-needed comic relief to the intense political atmosphere.

The Finance Bill 2023 has been among the trending topics as most Kenyans have been trying to figure out what the bill contains. The bill outlines the government’s plans for taxation and revenue generation through introducing more tax policies among the citizens. Content creators are set to be taxed 15 percent of their total income.
