Amina Abdi Rabar Bows Out of NTV’s The Trend After Seven Years

Television personality Amina Abdi Rabar has officially signed off from NTV’s The Trend, ending her seven-year run as host of the popular Friday night entertainment and lifestyle show. The famous media personality made the announcement during her last appearance on The Trend on Friday, September 5, surprising viewers and her Trending Talk (TTTT) panelists.

“This is the last time I get to sign out on TTTT, my name is Amina Abdi Rabar. This was my last show,” she told the audience, as her colleagues reacted with shock. She went on to express gratitude to her fans and team.

“Thank you so much to all for the love. Thanks to all of you for welcoming me into your homes, I appreciate it. Thank you to all the panellists and other hosts I have had here,” she added

Her work has been upholding professionalism, exciting viewers with engaging contents. Her journey to NTV began after she took over The Trend in 2017 from Larry Madowo. This was after Larry left NTV to join CNN. Over the years, she has built her own loyal fan-base while retaining the show’s vibrant identity as a space for entertainment, lifestyle and social commentary.

Before joining NTV, Amina had hosted the Alfajiri breakfast show on K24 TV under Mediamax and also co-hosted the breakfast show on Capital FM.

A versatile media personality, Amina is more than just a TV and radio presenter. The 36-year-old is also a singer, songwriter, actress, MC and events facilitator, making her one of the most dynamic figures in Kenya’s entertainment scene.

While she did not disclose her next move, Amina’s exit marks the end of a significant chapter for The Trend and its audience.
