Media veteran, Shaffie Weru, is now the new Head of Events and Branding at Nairobi County after Nairobi’s governor,Johnson Sakaja, hired him.
In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, Weru revealed that he is ready to give Nairobi County a lifetime experience through planning memorable events.
“Nairobi is the New York or Paris of our country, and we offer the best experience and push boundaries that have never been pushed before to give the best results in service delivery for our number one client, the people of Kanairo,” he said.
He also indicated that Sakaja’s vision and manifesto will be the main push in his new role but not his own vision.
“It’s not about my vision but the vision of my governor as it is enshrined in his manifesto that includes a City of Dignity and making Nairobi work,” Weru stated.
On his new role, he indicated that he is set to oversee all of Sakaja’s indoor and outdoor events and make sure they are exemplary.
In the current changing times, Weru stays ahead of time by visiting various events locally and internationally.
This gives him time to learn and experience from other people’s works adding that “adapt or die” is his life mission.
On his former radio job, he stated that it was a “one-man army job” while event planning requires team work in which he has already adapted.
The media personality also revealed that he is currently working on some projects like Battle of the Choir and Kanairo Anthem Challenge.
He previously planned events like Nairobi Festivals and Wanyama Royal Cup.
He intends to become the events planner of the whole country and probably internationally in future.
