Standard Chartered Bank Expands Foreign Currency Investment Options in Kenya

Standard Chartered Bank has expanded its range of foreign currency investment products for Kenyan investors, responding to growing demand for international investment opportunities. The bank has introduced several new options, including USD Money Market Funds, USD Corporate Bonds, USD Government Bonds, and Signature CIO Funds.

Standard Chartered’s existing portfolio includes ESG funds as well as mutual funds across various currencies. The expansion is intended to provide Kenyan investors with a range of options to diversify their portfolios into international markets.

Key features of the new investment options include:

  1. USD Money Market Fund with a minimum investment of $1,000 lump sum or $100 monthly top-ups.
  2. USD Corporate and Government Bonds starting with a minimum investment of $50,000.
  3. Mutual Funds and Signature CIO Funds accessible with a $1,000 lump sum or $100 per month.
  4. ESG-focused investment options such as Green Bonds and ESG offshore mutual funds.

Standard Chartered highlights several key benefits of these investment products, including professional management, international exposure, diversification, liquidity, and convenience. In addition, the bank provides regular portfolio statements and reviews to help investors manage their investments effectively.
