Meet Kenyan Man Aiming to Break Guinness World Record by Hugging 1500 People Within 24 Hours

Kenyan man George Achoka is on a mission to break the set Guinness World Record by offering 15,000 hugs in 24 hours tomorrow, November 29, at Archives Nairobi.

On his mission, which has been termed ‘Nairobi Hugfest 2024’, Achoka also looks forward to utilizing the opportunity to preach the gospel of unity embracing the atmosphere of love to Kenya as one family.

Speaking with Citizen Digital, the Gen Z applauded his hugging challenge emphasizing on the need to embrace warmth, goodwill and oneness within the city of Nairobi. According to him, people have perceived Nairobi as a city of cold-hearted people who don’t care about their neighbours’ whereabouts.

“We’re working to change the stereotype that Nairobians are cold,” he said.

He added, “If 1,000 people came up to hug you in a tense protest, it shows that people are actually warm-hearted.”

Achoka, became on the limelight after he revealed about having hugger 1000 people in 3-hours during his ‘free hugs’ movement, on a day of nationwide Gen Z protest.

Achoka believes that hugs have a therapeutic effect.

Kenyans have expressed their interest in supporting their own as he looks forward to breaking the Guinness world record.
