The Majority Whip in the National Assembly was wrong in his assertion that the reappointed Cabinet Secretary was not supposed to be vetted.
Osoro stated, according to Justice Mrima’s ruling which repudiated JB Muturi’s ruling, that all Cabinet Secretaries will be vetted afresh.
“I was wrong on vetting. Just finished reading Justice AC Mrima’s judgment that repudiated JB Muturi’s ruling. ALL CS nominees will be vetted afresh.” said Majority whip who also represents South Mugirango constituency.
Osoro had initially stated that the CSs reappointed by President William Ruto did not need any fresh vetting as they were already vetted by the National Assembly before being dismissed by the President.
According to his earlier statement, the majority stated that the vetting of the reappointed CSs was already done and they only needed to assume office without any questions being asked or being sworn in.
The CSs who made it to the first 11 of the announcement included Aden Duale, Davies Chirchir, Alice Wahome, Rebecca Miano, Kithure Kindiki, and Soipan Tuya.
