Authorities have begun an extensive operation to investigate an incident where six bodies were discovered wrapped in nylon bags at the Kware dumpsite located in the Mukuru Kwa Njenga neighborhood of Pipeline, Embakasi.
According to the National Police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the victims were killed in a similar manner, and the area has been cordoned off and designated as a crime scene.
“Authorities from the forensic unit are investigating the incident and call on residents to remain calm as the police pursue the perpetrators,” said a statement issued by the National Police Service.
This comes just a few hours after President William Ruto made changes to the security sector following the resignation of Inspector of Police Japhet Koome.
Several human rights organizations have expressed their anger towards authorities over what they term as laxity and a failure to protect Kenyan citizens.
Raila Odinga, the Azimio leader, expressed deep sorrow and called for immediate action against the perpetrators.
