Kenyan President William Ruto has withdrawn the controversial finance bill that had sparked deadly protests in the country and left at least five people dead.
According to Ruto, despite the votes by the United Democratic Alliance MPs to support the bill, he will not sign it into law.
“I concede, I will not sign Finance Bill 2024. It will be fully withdrawn.” Ruto said.
