Esther Akoth alias Akothee has faced backlash from a section of netizens after lamenting on the unavailability of Kenyan tea in foreign countries.
In her rant, the mother of five who is currently on her honeymoon in Santorini, Greece, explained that she’s always forced to carry her own Kenyan tea whenever she is traveling abroad. This is because the foreign countries’ restaurants don’t offers Kenyan tea. Akothee questioned the situation since a huge percentage of the Kenyan tea is usually exported.
“Those living abroad and yuroop. Have you seen kenyan tea in restaurants? Since I started traveling I have never seen kenyan tea anywhere after I I leave Kenya unless I carry mine ! Why is it so?
Is Kenyan tea not for exports? Please comb me , I need to know Why”, Akothee captioned the post.
As some noted that as a business opportunity, a section of her fans were never pleased with her rant as some indicated that tea can never be exported since all she encourages her fellow ladies to engage in is exporting their “rosecocos”. Here are some of the comments:
Nyachwo brenda confirmed on seeing Kenyan tea and rosemary leaves in foreign countries. However, she never disclosed which country it is as she slammed Madam Boss for always shouting at people for not possessing passports.
Mukurima X Muriuki stated that most of the foreign restaurants serve Kenyan tea which usually goes through value addition in Europe.
