Bereaved Families In The Mukumu Disaster Will Receive Sh400,000 Each

Each of the families of the students at Mukumu Girls who passed away as a result of tainted food will receive Sh400,000.

The Group Life Insurance Cover would compensate the families of the deceased pupils with Sh400,000 each student, according to Machogu. “The Ministry, through the regional and county offices and the school’s management, has provided guidance and support to the bereaved families in pursuing these claims for payment,” the official stated.

According to Machogu, the Ministry also paid for the medical bills for 109 pupils who were admitted to different hospitals. They were admitted to the Agha Khan, KNH, Mediheal, Oasis, and Lifecare Hospitals, as well as the Kakamega County Referral Hospital and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
