According to him, “The Huduma Namba did not work out, but we are going to replace it with Unique Personal Identifier if a child is born, he or she will use that number from the time of birth until the time of his or her demise,” The service, according to him, will be added to the E-Citizen portal.
Kenyans were asked by Ambassador Bitok to register births and deaths so that the government could plan for the country’s population.
On Friday afternoon, Bitok gave a speech in Kaguru, South Imenti, where he had just opened a civil registration office.
Along with other influential members of parliament, he was accompanied by MPS Shadrack Mwiti (South Imenti), Mpuru Aburi (Tigania East), Kirima Nguchine (Tigania West), and John Paul Mwirigi (Igembe South). According to Bitok, just 55% of Kenyans record their births, which causes a backlog of legal cases including succession issues.
He emphasized the significance of recording both births and deaths. Children cannot enroll in school these days without birth documents, and land cannot be divided if the person holding the title deed has passed away, according to Bitok.
According to Bitok, the birth and death certificates would soon be issued digitally, allowing Kenyans to obtain them within a single day. In order to boost the number of people who register the two, he advised the residents of South Imenti to use the new office.

MPs in attendance criticized Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio, for his protest.
