Comedian turned activist, Eric Omondi, has secured the discharge of five new mother’s from Pumwani Maternity hospital. The women had been detained in the hospital for failing to pay for maternity services after delivery.
The comedian took it to his Instagram account and shared a video that explained the plight of the held up new mother’s in the hospital and any other health facility in the country. Omondi lamented on the issue as he called upon President William Ruto to intervene and act on the issue before paying billions to CASs and buying new cars for the executive.
The self-proclaimed president of comedy concluded by stating that the said government of “mama mboga” and “boda boda” riders should know that they are suffering as some are jailed and others have been detained at Pumwani hospital.
“We have released 5 New Mothers who had been detained at Pumwani Maternity. Mr. President before you pay 50 CAS’s billions of shillings, before the government buys brand new cars for the Executive, PLEASE make an order for all mothers detained at Pumwani and across the country to be released. Ulisema Serikali ni ya Mama mboga na Boda Boda. Watu wa boda boda wako Jela na mama mboga amefungiwa Pumwani,” Omondi captioned the video.
