Sauti Sol star, Bien-Aime Baraza received only Sh14,634 in royalties from the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK),according to an Mpesa screenshot he shared on social media.
Displeasured Bien shared the screenshot to call out MCSK for sending such a low amount as he sarcastically flaunted that the amount made him rich.
“Let the weekend begin. I’M RICH BITCH!!!!! Where the hoes at. We balling out of control this weekend.”He wrote.
Tagging wrapper Kalighraph Jonnes, Bien showed concerns over the amount upcoming artists might have received.
“Your number 1 artist has been paid royalties. I can only imagine what upcoming artists like @khaligraph_jones are getting. DM with today’s plan,” Bien Aime Wrote.
This is not the first time Kenyan artistes are receiving peanuts in the name of royalties from MCSK and other bodies tasked to collect money on behalf of artistes.
Bien’s message stirred a conversation online with artistes coming out to share their dissatisfaction with the payments from MCSK.
