Tanzanian Bongo star, Diamond Platnumz, has been the talk of town after she was seen in church quoting a Bible verse on Monday amidst Ramadhan season. Tanzanian gospel choir, Zabron singers have come out to defend the artist and they are asking him to join christianity if he is ready to convert from Islamic religion.
In an interview with Wasafi radio, the choir’s spokesperson indicated that they are ready to accept the Bongo star to christianity and even baptize him. The group which represents the seventh day adventists, noted that they love the artist and his conversion will be a great pleasure to them. The spokesperson added that they are ready to nurture the artist spiritually.
“The good thing that I am very happy about is seeing Diamond reading the Bible. I was very happy and wished it was better for him to say that he has decided to become a Seventh-day Adventist and be baptized. We will receive him and we Zabron are ready to raise him spiritually. We welcome him because we love him very much,” the spokesperson stated.
Last week, the Wasafi records CEO shared a poster in his Instagram account which was meant to advertise an Easter event that was to be attended by gospel artists like Rose Muhando and Christina Shusho as well as several pastors. He attended the event and even read a Bible and this made the situation worse. He was also prayed for by a christian prophet who had attended the event.
Diamond’s actions were followed by the Muslim community criticizing him as some commented “rest in peace” in his Instagram post. He opted to delete the post in order to cool down the tension he had already created. A sheikh named Shariff went ahead to ask the artist to decide whether to remain a Muslim or convert to christianity.
