Catherine Kamau popularly known as Kate Actress is on the moon after winning Ladies In Media Awards (LIMA) 2022 as the African female actor of the year.
LIMA awards 2022 took place on Saturday where the ceremony was held virtually in order to give equal experience to women in media across African continent.
Kate took it to her Instagram page to celebrate the milestone as her followers congratulated her.
The voting of the winner was held online where it was closed on February 25.
The awards were held for the first in time in Africa where they were meant to honor women in the African media both on camera and behind the scenes.
The awards recognized extraordinary ladies who are excelling in the media across different sectors in the media.
The ceremony meant to support their craft as well as celebrate their achievements in the media industry.
The Awards featured the following categories: News anchor, influencer, reporter, actor of the year, radio personality of the year, print journalist of the year, TV personality of the year, humanitarian of the year, new artist, African voice-over artist of the year, producer of the year, camera operator of the year, sports journalist of the year; African blogger, author, radio personality, actor and TV personality of the year.
Kate Actress was among the Kenyans who were nominated for the awards.
This year’s awards featured countries like Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria and Zimbabwe.
Any woman contestant who was nominated was anyone impacting the society positively in the media industry.
Last year March, Kate Actress won another award alongside Jackie Matubia in the third edition of Women in Film Awards which was held at Kenya National Theatre.
The mother of two bagged the award of Best actress in Film because of her role in the romantic drama feature film, “Nafsi.”
