Willy Paul Didn’t Write ‘Njiwa’ and ‘Hallelujah’ Hits: Tanzanian Bongo Artist Reveals

Jay Melody, the fast rising Bongo Star has revealed that he is the penholder for some of Willy Paul’s popular songs.

The Tanzanian artist who was interviewed by renowned radio personality Mzazi Willy M Tuva, removed husks from the public’s ears saying he wrote two songs for Willy Paul; ‘Njiwa’ and ‘Hallelujah’

Songwriting, according to him, is what paved lanes to his career life.

At the moment of the release of the two Willy Paul songs namely ‘Njiwa’ and ‘Hallelujah’, Jay Melody said he was working with THT which is a company known to be in the business of buying and selling art compositions to artists.

However, he admitted that he didn’t meet the Kenyan singer in person despite making his purchase at THT.

“I was working with THT so I didn’t meet with Willy Paul in person.” Said Jay Melody.

He added.

“I wrote ‘Njiwa’ and ‘Hallelujah’ from scratch and it was a complete song with melodies and everything. Willy Paul paid THT and I was paid.”

Songwriting being a career he has done for countless ages, Mr Jay seems to have had his pen amplified out by some of the big names in the music industry going ahead to mention a few artists that have vocalized his writings.

“I have written big songs for artists such as Nandy, ‘Nitadata’ by Nadia Mukami, ‘Kivuruge’, ‘Hazipo’, ‘Do Me’, I have written so many songs,” he added.

Asked about the challenge in songwriting, he brought into limelight the hidden fact that songwriters fail to receive attributions to their work.

This is contributed by the fact that most artists don’t admitting that they didn’t originate the songs they sing by themselves.

He also revealed that money circulates through a medium and the final amount that reaches to actual author is just a stipend, hence another big challenge to songwriters.
