Tanqueray Gin & Nairobi Polo Club Host Lagos Polo Club

Tanqueray Gin, in partnership with the Nairobi Polo Club (NPC), welcomed the Lagos Polo Club (LPC) at an exclusive event held at the Gem Forest Hotel, Nairobi. The event dubbed the Chairman’s Cocktail served as a platform for the two teams to connect and celebrate their shared language of polo.

“It is a great honour to welcome the Lagos Polo Club back to Nairobi for the second edition of the Lagos Incoming Tour,” said Jean Nyawara, Head of Marketing Spirits Portfolio in East Africa for EABL. “As EABL, our support for the sport of polo goes beyond sponsorship. We believe in fostering community and camaraderie that makes the sport compelling not only for the players but also for the spectators. Hosting the team from Lagos is a privilege, and we are proud to help set the stage for a memorable tournament.”

Guests, including NPC Chairman Mr. Simon Muchene and Mr. Adeyemo Alakija of LPC, enjoyed an immersive tasting experience guided by Diageo Reserve Brand Ambassador Wangari Mwangi. The gin serves were polo-inspired cocktails that are served during the various polo tournaments and draw a parallel between the skill and discipline of polo and that of cocktail artistry.

For Tanqueray, the ongoing partnership is a strategic platform to engage with a discerning audience and demonstrate a long-term investment in the world of polo. By facilitating the engagement, the brand reaffirms its role as a catalyst for meaningful connection
