Nairobi City Ranked The Best Africa’s Travel Destination

Nairobi city won the world Travel Award beating other nominated prominent cities in Africa.

This is the second time Nairobi bags the award.

The city was named Africa’s Leading Business Destination on Saturday, October 15, during the 2022 Word Travel Awards held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

The Port of Mombasa was deemed the best dock for cruise ships.

Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna received the award as he congratulated the hospitality industry for their great efforts to put the city on top while also congratulating other winners.

“Congratulations to all the Winners at the 29th Annual World Travel Awards. Many Kenyan Hospitality players won and of course our city won best Business Travel Destination!” Sifuna said.

The city has overtime maintained it’s selling points which include good infrastructure, modern hotels, quality of life and improved social amenities like the biggest and best shopping malls compared to other countries.

Other cities that had been nominated for the award are Cairo,Capetown,Accra,Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Kigali and Lagos.

The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge,recognize and celebrate progressive efforts put across by all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries
