Kenya Power Announces Delay in Token Purchase Via Their Paybill

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company has announced that it is facing challenges in generating tokens purchased through paybill number 888880.

According to a statement issued by the power supply company today, this error has caused many power users to experience blackouts because they are unable to restore power for personal or business use.

The company has, however, provided alternative channels for customers seeking to purchase tokens. Customers can use the following appointed channels:

  • Cooperative Bank of Kenya Ltd. Buy your tokens via MCo-opCash App/Web or
    USSD *667#.
  • Equity Bank (Kenya) Ltd. Buy your tokens via USSD *247#, Equitel, Equity Mobile
    App/Online, Eva Chatbot or EazzyBiz.
  • Family Bank Ltd. Buy your tokens via PesaPap Mobile App, USSD *325# or Family
    Bank Website.
  • KCB Bank Kenya Ltd. Buy your tokens via KCB Mobile Banking App, KCB iBank
    App, Vooma Mobile App, USSD *522# or *844#.
  • National Bank of Kenya Ltd. Buy your tokens via NBK Mobile App, USSD *625# or
    NBK Epay Internet Banking.
  • NCBA Bank – Buy your tokens via NCBA NOW App or USSD *488# or NCBA
    Connect Online Banking.
    Our team is working to resolve the issue affecting our Mpesa Paybill 888880. We will issue
    an update once this is concluded.
