KCB and Visa Launch Business Credit Card for SMEs

KCB Bank Kenya has partnered with Visa to introduce a new Business Credit Card aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The new solution is designed to help businesses manage their cash flow, control spending, and pay for daily expenses with ease.

The card offers access to working capital through a revolving credit line, giving businesses up to 45 days of interest-free credit. This means traders and business owners can buy goods or pay for services and settle the amount later without extra cost within the set period.

Customers can choose between a Kenya Shillings (KES) card or a US Dollar (USD) card. The solution also allows businesses to issue cards to employees, making it easier to track company spending. In addition, users will receive monthly statements to help them review and manage their expenses.

Cardholders will also enjoy special Visa commercial offers, which may include discounts and cost-saving deals. These benefits are expected to support SMEs as they move towards more digital ways of doing business.

Speaking during the launch, Angela Mwirigi, Director of Digital Financial Services at KCB Bank Kenya, said SMEs play a key role in Kenya’s economy but often face challenges in accessing finance. She noted that many business owners struggle with tight cash flow, mixing personal and business expenses, and limited control over spending. She added that the new card will help address these challenges by giving businesses better access to credit and improved expense management tools.

KCBThe launch highlights KCB’s focus on strengthening support for SMEs, which form a large part of Kenya’s business sector.
