Mukami’s demise was announced by her daughter, Nyawira Kimathi who was living with her at their Komarock home in Nairobi. As reported by Nyawira, her mother was experiencing breathing problems and this prompted her to rush her to Nairobi hospital.

At the hospital, the doctors examined Mukami but unfortunately noted that she won’t make it. The widow died after a few minutes and her body was taking to Lee funeral home.

“On arrival at the hospital, she was received by the doctors but after several tests, they informed us that she wouldn’t make it, she died a few minutes later and we took her body to Lee Funeral Home,” Nyawira said.

Previously, the widow had urged the government to help her recover the bones of her late husband. According to her, she needed to bury Kimathi with honour before she died. Unfortunately, she died before her wish was granted.
