The boyfriend to June Jerop, the murdered KU master’s student, has been detained after detectives traced using CCTV footages to find out his involvement in the murder case.

His name is Jesse Wafula Wakukha. The footages display him in a Mercedes Benz that which he used to pick Jerop up from her apartment in South B, Nairobi. Their destination afterwards remained unknown till now.

Based on the reports, that marked Ms Jerop’s last movements. She thereafter went missing until her body was later found dumped near Jamhuri Primary School in Nairobi County.

Reports by detectives on the matter reveals that Jerop had her last moment on earth on March 19, the same day her boyfriend travelled to his rural home in Bungoma County, using the same vehicle.

However, the suspected lover found his way back to the city on March 24 but this time, using a public transport and leaving behind the Mercedes Benz that upon thorough investigations, was found to be having traces of blood all over.

While further investigations are still ongoing, sample of blood obtained from the traces left on the vehicle were taken to a government chemist for a DNA test. This is to confirm if there’s a match with that of the deceased.

Preliminary investigations showed that Jerop death was caused by excessive bleeding caused by serious injuries rained on her body
