Eric Omondi Hints On Quitting Comedy

Kenyan comedian, Eric Omondi, hints on quitting comedy in order to focus on changing Kenya’s economic status.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Ramogi TV, the comedian insinuated that he is ready to hang his boots after 16 years in comedy where he is set to start a new course of changing the current economic status of the country.

“I have also entertained people for a long time, 16 years in the comedy industry. That is enough time,” he said.

Omondi added that since God has given him a platform to air Kenyan grievances, he will surely use that chance to fight for them since they are currently suffering.

“It is a serious time, we’re no longer laughing, we’re in tough times. People are suffering, they’re starving, they can’t afford basic needs. Fortunately, God has given me a voice and platform,” the comedian said.

Omondi also indicated that he is not financed or sponsored by the Azimio leaders as it has been rumored.

He noted that his activism activities will be carried out by him individually without any political party involvement.

“I’m doing this as Eric. I’m not part of any political outfit and not being pushed or sponsored by anyone,” he said.

The former Churchill Show comedian stated that it is high time he gives voice to the voiceless in the society.

On Tuesday, Omondi was arrested while en route to Statehouse to deliver jobless Kenyans’ resumes.

He marched alongside some youths as they carried a load of resumes on the cart labelled ‘Statehouse express CVS.’

Omondi alongside US-based Bernice Saroni are also involved in bailing out petty offenders in Kenyan prisons where most of them turn out to be innocent while the real criminals are walking freely in the streets.
