5G services will be available across over 370 locations nationwide. Major towns to pilot the services include Mombasa, Nakuru, Nairobi, Athi River, Kisumu, Kakamega, Siaya, Eldoret, and Bungoma among others.
In collaboration with the partner network, Equitel said in a statement that the 5G service will soon be extended to densely populated areas like residential neighborhoods, shopping centers, and central business districts.

“This milestone will ensure faster and more reliable connectivity that empowers businesses, communities, and individuals, enabling them to actively engage in the digital economy,” Equity Bank said in a statement.

To access the 5G services, customers will need to have a 5G capable device supported by a 4G LTE SIM card. For customers using a 3G SIM card, they will have to visit their nearest Equity branch to acquire a 4G LTE SIM card.
