Comedian Mama Kaunty Takes A Jab at Bamboo over Comments on Cross Dressing

Mama Kaunty, a Kenyan comedian who is known for his appearances on Obinna show, has taken a jab at renowned musician-turned preacher Bamboo who recently urged Mama Kaunty to stop cross-dressing when presenting on the show.

The comedian has always identified himself with skirts he posts on social media, openly embracing cross dressing. He has also, oftentimes been seen on makeup for women, whenever he appears on the show.

Speaking when hosted on the Obinna Show, Bamboo slammed Mama Kaunty for his choice of dressing particularly on the show advising the comedian to present himself as a man. Bamboo emphasized that the comedian will still thrive in the industry if he would agree to embrace his masculinity.

He added that several young comedians look up to them that are doing well in the industry, challenging him to set a perfect example to the coming generation of comedians.

“What is the effect on the minds of the young and upcoming comedians? You will find that if you go hard dressing like a woman, you will blow up. If he starts becoming successful, what are the next comedians going to do? They are going to copy this exact same profile. You will see them come up. You do not have to do that stuff to make it.”

The man of God claimed that the funnymen, going by his presentability, portrays two contradicting versions. He however, told Mama Kaunti to embrace the side of Christ which is in him, assuring him of great success.

“There’s a version of you that’s without Christ, and there is a version of you that is in Christ. The version of you that’s in Christ is the version you want. That’s the version that brings success. The version of you that’s without Christ is what makes you dress like a woman.”

In response, The comedian shared a video of himself singing Mercy Masika’s song Nikupendeze while holding his Bible. He told off Bamboo and netizens on his case about cross-dressing.

“To Bamboo and those supporting Bamboo, my message to you is this: focus on your sins. God won’t ask you about mine. Only God can judge. Maybe your sin is worse than ours, but we don’t judge. No one is clean,” he said.
