CA Invites Bids for Network Expansion and Asset Disposal in New Tender Notice

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has announced an open national tender, inviting firms to bid for key projects in the ICT sector. In the notice, the regulator states that it invites tenders from interested and competent firms for two main opportunities.

One of the tenders focuses on expanding mobile connectivity. The notice describes it as an “Open National Tender for provision of Cellular Mobile Network Infrastructure and Services in the Unserved and Underserved Areas of Kenya – Phase IVB.” The project targets areas that still lack reliable network coverage.

According to the notice, an online pre-bidders conference for this tender will be held on Thursday 16th April 2026 at 10.00 am to 11.30 a.m East African Time. The closing date is set for Wednesday May 6th, 2026 at 10:30hrs East African Time.

The second tender relates to asset disposal. It is listed as a “Tender for disposal of assets and obsolete items during the Financial Year 2025/2026,” with a deadline of April 29th, 2026 at 10:30hrs East African Time. Both tenders are marked as “Open to All,” allowing broad participation.

CA has made tender documents easily accessible, noting that they “can be accessed and downloaded from the Public Procurement Information Portal… and the Authority’s website… free of charge.”

However, firms that download the documents are required to submit their contact details, as stated: they “must arrange to forward their particulars… before the closing date for records and for purposes of receiving clarifications.”

The authority also outlined submission requirements, stating that prices quoted should be inclusive of all taxes and MUST be expressed in Kenya Shillings. Completed documents must be placed in a plain, sealed envelope clearly marked with the tender name and reference number and submitted before the stated deadlines.

The notice underscores CA’s role in managing Kenya’s ICT sector while opening opportunities for firms to participate in infrastructure development and asset disposal.
